A very neat idea for a combination! How you only applied the fur to the head and upper torso is just right. There's not too much and there's not too little across the body. This whole creation of yours is wonderful and original. If you ask me, you created a perfect new Halloween monster. Terrific work.

RushLightInvader responds:

Thank you very much. i appreciate it :D

Definitely not the most detailed artwork I've seen, but the different colors and shades you used do an excellent job of creating mood. Also, I love how big the swamp landscape is. Finally, the fog is amazing and is without a doubt my favorite thing about this piece of art.

luqzzee responds:

Thanks!

Very clever idea! I wouldn't buy a T shirt with this design on it because I'm not a Harry Potter fan, but if a shirt with this design got out there I bet you'd make a lot of money.

chitucoolass responds:

thats what we'r hoping for!! thanks for the 4 stars!

You do have some great sharpness and detail in this drawing, but there are a few flaws I'd like to point out:

1. Her right eye looks about half the size of her left one.
2. The second line by her nose is unneeded. That's probably something you just forgot to erase.
3. The rosy cheek effect you tried to do is just atrocious. It looks like she has a huge pimple on each cheek.

Like I said, you did a great job with detailing and sharpness. Personally, the thing I like best here is the sheen of her hair. Not a bad drawing whatsoever, but those flaws I found really hurt your artwork. Especially trying to give her rosy cheeks, which turned out terrible.

SnowBacon responds:

I had a feeling the eye looked a bit off (the angle of the eye as well, the proportion looked a bit off as well.

Haha I'll keep that in mind about the rosy cheeks.

Thanks a lot! c:

This is way too big. It takes forever to load!!

i suck at pixels, so it becomes either to big or to small TvT

To start this off, I really like the colors you used. I think all the colors blend in well, but he green and pink blend together the best.

Next, the only color running down the skull's face that looks good is the red. I think that is the only color you should've had running down the skull's face, since it's the only color that would make any sense. Then it would look like the skull was bleeding and then it would have all of the rest of the colors coming out of the back of it's head, making it just look cooler and unusual. Strongly opinionated, I know, but just a suggestion.

Something I don't think a lot of people who view this will notice is all of the little details in the skull and the background. Very good job on that, but it's too bad that most of the people who view this probably won't notice that.

In conclusion, I do think this is a pretty cool painting, if a little messy.

P.S. I read your Author's Comments and I'm glad that making this painting made you feel better. I understand how you feel, when you're trying to help someone out, but you feel like you maybe made it worse. It sucks, but my advice to you is to find out for sure whether your advice to the person you were trying to help out really helped them or not. If it did, great! But if not, helping someone doesn't always work because sometimes people can only solve their problems on their own. Just remember that and hopefully, you didn't damage your relationship with that person. If you did, just say that you were only trying to help and I'm sure they'll understand. :)

Rhunyc responds:

Thank you for the lengthy review and the advice! It's definitely appreciated.

As for the colors on the skull, the reason why I included all of them, was mainly for funsies. The logic behind it was that each color represents a different sort of emotion/idea, and I wanted all of them to be bleeding out.. But I do see what you're saying. I just kind of got carried away with the colors at the end. As I made the timelapse, I rewatched the process of it and realized I could have stopped with the colors when I first introduced them.. But oh well. :P

Maybe I'll come back to this shortly and re-work it. :)

I knew that Justin Bieber was a forlorn metrosexual humanoid. It all makes sense now...I'm sorry I had to because the guy in your painting looks like JB. :P

Anyways, you drew the face pretty well. There are a few issues with it, though. The line that makes the right side of the bridge of his nose is poorly drawn and doesn't really blend in with his face. I think that's because you drew the line a little too long. Also, the crease above his lips is too darkly colored, if you ask me. Next, his hair would look better if he didn't have that one piece of hair sticking out. Lastly, he doesn't have a columella, so there's no skin between his nostrils. I know you said in the Author's Comments that you wanted to give him unusual characteristics, but him not having a columella looks really unappealing.

Besides the guy in the painting, I like the colors you used. The colors make kind of an eerie mood. The tone of his skin goes well with the background, too.

I'd say this painting is a little more than mediocre. You have a few things that should be fixed.

P.S. If we weren't friends, I would've probably given you a zero because he looks like Justin Bieber. lol jk

ADR3-N responds:

Hah, thanks for the well-rounded critique. I wanted to give him the characteristic Skyrim-vampire split, but it does look weird, I agree. Never noticed the JB look -- even down to the messy hair :0

Dope drawing, man. J Cole is one of the few real rappers out there today. The best part about this drawing is that it really looks like him! You really got the face structure, the eyebrows, the beard and the hair nearly spot on! Very nice job.

Prizzy96 responds:

Thanks I appreciate your comment and glad you like it

Wow, this is...this is just stunning. The amount of detail put into the textures and different colors of the fur is superb. The proportions are all excellent and the eyes could not look more realistic unless they were moving.

In summation, everything is just breathtaking because of how realistic the tiger looks. It must've taken a long time to create the amazing detail of this portrait. There was definitely no talent wasted here. Terrific job.

Matsuemon responds:

Wow! Thank you SO much for such a thoughtful comment. I really appreciate it! This was my first animal portrait, so I was very happy with how it turned out. Kind of surprised myself. The texturing of his muzzle was the hardest part. Took several layers blended together, and a custom brush, to get it to look right.

I've always loved beach sunsets, so this gets a soft spot in my heart. The different colors of the sunset are absolutely beautiful, especially the purple. You drew the water very well and the sun reflecting off of the water looks spot on.

A very simple idea for a painting, but elegant nonetheless.

Matsuemon responds:

Thanks so much, Def! I do love sunsets, and the beach is like my favorite place to be, so I had to do it. I think soon I'm going to have to do a lighthouse seascape scene. =)

You can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning.
